Litigation is Laborious (and Costly) for Your Business

Is your business facing a dispute with another business, vendor, or former employee?
Whether you are a small business or a Fortune 500 company, chances are at some point your business will have a conflict with another party. It could be a disagreement over terms during a contract negotiation, a real estate purchase or lease, an employment dispute, or any other issue facing your business.
Regardless of what the nature of the dispute is, if you find yourself going to court, litigation can consume a tremendous amount of time, money, and resources--which can take a toll on your business.
While big companies and major corporations have experienced legal teams of in-house lawyers, small businesses don’t have the resources to litigate even minor disputes. Hourly rates of attorney fees are expensive and it can take months just to get a court date!
Mediation may be the answer to resolve your business dispute quicker and less expensive than litigation.
Mediation is the process of a neutral third-party to help all parties involved in the dispute to work toward an agreement. The mediator facilitates discussion between the parties, suggests possible solutions, and any resolution is completely voluntary. Mediators aren’t judges and do not mandate outcomes; they work with all parties to find a solution.
The cost of mediating your business dispute is considerably less than that of litigation. The hourly rate of a non-attorney mediator is usually less than it costs to hire a lawyer. Also, mediation may only take a few hours while litigation can take months and many hours of legal fees to prepare and argue the case for your business.
Although a mediator will try to help find a solution to your business dispute, sometimes an agreement just can’t be reached. In some cases, litigation may be inevitable and the dispute must still be resolved in court. Even if a partial resolution is reached through mediation, it can save hours of legal fees for your business.
The bottom line is if your business is facing a dispute, mediation can save your business time and money to resolve it.
